The researchers found, however, that women actually had fewer contractions when sitting in a car than they did when walking. While you would expect driving could increase the mother’s blood pressure and heart rate, it in fact lowered it.  However, do not drive if you are tired and it likely to feel more tired during pregnancy. Pay attention to wearing seatbelts. If the classic ones make you feel uncomfortable, look for specially designed ones. There are special belts and accessories available for pregnant women that work by transferring the ‘weight’ from your tummy to your shoulders.
